Amaranth

Last year, 2017, we planted a red spike amaranthus; a gorgeous, four foot tall plant with lovely, deep, dark red flowers that were absolutely stunning in bouquets and centerpieces for events.  This plant provided a very unusual texture and was a dramatic addition for many bridal bouquets in the red color scheme.  This annual flower also dried beautifully for long lasting dried arrangements and wreaths.  This summer we have purchased three more varieties and I am so excited to see them grow!  Emerald Tassels, Love-Lies-Bleeding (what a tragic name), and the fun and unique colored Hot Biscuits are the “new to us” varieties of amaranth for the 2018 gardens.3786_01_redspike amaranth
